Verna had the right idea.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. -Mark Twain

Verna's Bench
a few weeks ago, a couple sweet girls- fellow travel nurses- invited me to move in to their waterfront rental with them. there's so much i love about this new place (mountain/water view, duh). but perhaps my favorite detail is a green bench across the street. do you see it through the window down below? its become my little zen zone. verna sounds like my kind of gal. bless her family for this bench, as a reminder to anyone who sits there, to sit, breathe deeply, relax, let go, and enjoy the moment in the beauty of God's creation.

Favorite: Thursday.
I've recently gone back to a Monday- Friday work schedule. Except I can't actually say "gone back" because I've never had a Monday- Friday schedule in my working life. Soooo...I guess I'm having flashbacks to my days of schooling. Thursday has always been my favorite day of the week for so many reasons and it feels nice to be able to re-aquaint with the same old fondness.
In no particular order. . .
#1 its not Monday
#2 i hate the phrase "hump day" which applies to Wednesday
#3 Tuesdays are generally boring and just as bad as Monday only usually busier.
#4 Fridays still have rush hour traffic when you just want it to be weekend already.
#5 Thursday gets ALL the anticipation of the weekend. it can be argued Friday gets this, but it does not because Friday night is the weekend. it can't anticipate itself. i make up rules.
#6 sometimes you're hungover on Saturday, but usually not on Thursday
#7 Sundays are relaxing but Sunday night you have to start looking at Monday morning. . .
#8 when you are single and live away from your family Sundays can be very lonely.
#9 you can have an extra glass (or two...) of wine Thursday night because hey, tomorrow's technically the weekend (you just have to get through 8 hours of work first) and you don't actually do anything productive on Fridays anyway.
#10 all the good TV shows are on Thursday
Legit reasons. Right?
Cheers, Thursday!
